This document explains how Explora, located in Bègles (France), collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

A. ACCOUNT INFORMATION

When you create an account, we collect details from your Google or Apple account (such as your email address) to facilitate registration and login. We never collect, store, or have access to your Apple or Google account passwords.

B. APP DATA

We store information related to your app use and initial survey answers.
This includes:

  • Declared pathologies and symptoms
  • Lifestyle information
  • First name
  • Pictures taken through the app

This data is stored locally on your device and protected by the device's built-in encryption system.

C. HEALTH DATA & CONSENT

By entering health-related data such as symptoms or pathologies, you provide your explicit consent for us to process this information as described in this Privacy Policy.
You may withdraw this consent at any time by deleting your account or contacting us.

HOW WE USE THIS INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and improve the app's features and functionality
  • Measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns
  • Facilitate your use of the app (e.g., saving progress)
  • Generate tailored food recommendations based on your input
  • Respond to user inquiries and provide support

INFORMATION SHARING

A. DATA STORED ON YOUR DEVICE

Most app data remains securely stored on your device and protected by the operating system's encryption.

B. PSEUDONYMIZED & ENCRYPTED DATA FOR SCANS

To provide food recommendations, we use Google Firebase as a data processor.
When you scan a food item, the following data is transmitted to Firebase in a pseudonymized and encrypted form:

  • Scan image
  • Declared symptoms, pathologies and goals
  • Optional additional context

To protect your information, these measures are implemented:

  • Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
  • No direct identifiers (such as your name or email) are shared
  • We do not retain this data after analysis

C. OTHER THIRD PARTIES

We do not share personal information with other third parties except in the following cases:

  • To comply with legal obligations or law enforcement requests
  • To protect the rights and safety of our users and the public
  • In connection with a merger, sale, or asset transfer

We also share anonymous usage data with:

  • Google (Firebase) for analytics
  • RevenueCat for in-app purchase tracking
  • Meta to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns
  • Appsflyer to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns

LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING DATA

Under the GDPR, we process data on the following legal bases:

  • Explicit consent: for health-related data (symptoms, pathologies, photos).
  • Contract necessity: for account creation and login via Google or Apple.
  • Legitimate interest: for analytics and performance improvement (Firebase, RevenueCat).

ACCOUNT DELETION

You can delete your account at any time from the app settings.
This will permanently remove all data associated with Selena PCOS from our systems and unlink third-party integrations (such as Google or Apple login). This action cannot be undone.

USER RIGHTS

Under GDPR and CCPA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of your data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent for data processing

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
If we become aware that we have done so, we will delete the information and the associated account.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We encourage you to review it periodically.
